A Serendipitous Occasion

Serendipity

You ask where you will lie after your death? Where lie the souls unborn?

—Seneca

A Serendipitous Occasion

We exchanged our vows between

a rising full moon and an ocean setting sun

a top a dune made of sand.

Two different points of reference,

not an ending or a beginning,

but a blending of lights, a union—

A serendipitous occasion,

until death us do part.

Now I am here and you are everywhere

in that blending of lights we shared

not too long ago, when we vowed

our love to the heavens.
